Company X, has worldwide operations and an ever increasing global workforce. In order to foster long term relations with its employees, Company X lays emphasis on building strong foundations. As a result of this corporate philosophy, 'Induction Training' is considered to be a strong pillar in building a organisation culture. India, being one of the most promising future business destinations for company X, it has been planned to initiate the Global Induction Program for its Japanese new inductees from India.
Objective - The first objective of this program was to ensure that the new Japanese inductees have a clear view of the business functions in India with a more leaning exposure to the textile industry in India. The second objective of the training program was to ensure that the new inductees (young age group) have an enjoyable tourist experience in India as well
Critical Success factor - To ensure that the participants were safe during the trip was of high concern, primarily due to the young age group of delegates. To ensure that the participants had a first-hand account of the Indian Textile Industry and also get to experience the lifestyle of the young urban Indian in Tier 1 city.
Project Execution - The delegate trainees of Company X were introduced to the Indian Textile industry, right from the fibration aspects to the retail aspects of finished garments. The student expats were also introduced to the indigenous cottage industry on one hand and Apparel association on the other. In order to fulfil the second objective of the training program, the trainees were taken on a city tour and also a guided tour to one of Seven Wonders of the World - The Taj Mahal. Apart from this, the trainee delegates also had an academic exposure by making a 'student buddy' with a management school in Delhi NCR. This not only gave them a great insight into the management way of thinking but also exposed the student delegates to the social aspects of the young urban Indian youth.
Project outcome - As a fallout of this project, the client company X, gained immense popularity with its new hires. This endeavour set across the tone for organisation following by its workforce and also enhanced its brand value in front of its employees. All in all, the HR department of company X has made 'Global Induction Training' a regular feature for employee satisfaction at its early stages.
